Fun Few Days Ahead!

Tomorrow I will be teaching my newest class!!  “Garden Girls” is my newest class and I hope all my students enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed creating each one. These are small collage quilts with photo transferred images attached to a unique fabric background. I’ve used all hand dyed fabrics and threads such as cotton organdy, linen, and osnaburg. These fabrics have unique textures and are easy to hand stitch through.  I love flowers and so did my mom. I remember as a little girl walking around our yard filled with all sorts of flowers and flowering bushes nestled in the middle of 60 acres. She would tell me what each one was called as we strolled from tiny violets to large camillas. Each of my Garden Girls depicts one of my favorite flowers.  My classes are open to all levels from beginners to experienced stitchers!

Charlotte Quilter’s Guild Show

Join me this weekend (March 10th and 11th) in Monroe at the Union County Agricultural Center at 3230 Presson Dr. (Hwy. 74).  It is always a great show and lots of great vendors!  I will be vending with all my hand dyed threads and fabrics.  I have tons of new items…..velvets, osnaburg, linen, pearl cotton, silk ribbons and threads…. oh my are they beautiful!  I have several new patterns as well and new jewelry pieces.

I’ve been a member of the Charlotte Guild since 1982 and I can say I have learned so much from all the talented members of this guild.  If you have never been to a guild or thought you weren’t good enough, forget all of that!  It is the place to learn so much from so many.  And it is one place where age is non existent.  Some of the older ladies I learned the most from!  It’s a great place to make friends and share.  Visit www.charlottequiltersguild.org for more info.

See you there!
